Zenoté Random

Zenoté Random is a versatile tool designed to add a number of organic and unique effects to your video. Each control will behave differently depending on the style selected.

The amount parameter varies based on the chosen style. This sets the maximum allowable value of the style in question. See below for details on various modes.

Probability determines how likely it is that any particular parameter is tweaked at a given point. The higher this number, the more likely you are to see the effect you have selected. A setting of zero (0) means the footage will not be modified.

The speed control varies how fast the amount will vary from one point to the next. A high number will create a very jittery and sharp effect. A lower number will create a smooth and easy look as the random points ease from one to the next.

The style will select which features you would like to randomize.

  • Gamma will randomly adjust the images gamma. One use of this effect is with a high speed, medium to high probability and low amount is a good simulation of old film being unevenly exposed in a less than perfect camera.
  • X Position will randomly move the image back and forth along the X axis. A low amount and speed will create realistic projector gate weave.
  • Y Position will do the same as the X Position but on the Y axis.
  • X&Y Position will randomly position the image along both axis. A high speed and probability and low amount will yield interesting and jumpy titles.
  • Rotation will rotate the image back and forth. A slow speed and low amount brings to mind sitting on a ship.
  • Blur randomly defocus the image. A low to medium amount with low probability and high speed will create the look of film misfeeding in the gate of an old projector. Using this in combination with another instance of Random with gamma can yeild a realistic old film look.
  • Zoom randomly zooms in and out on the image. This is great in conjunction with random positioning and blur for very edgy effects with titles and other graphics.

The Render Settings check box will allow you to render the current settings being used to your video for test and comparison purposes.
