Zenoté Letterbox

Zenoté Letterbox will allow you to easily adjust the output ratio of your footage to fit various media from what format to another.

The crop parameter allows you to shave a few lines from the top of the image. This is only necessary if closed caption or other data from the blanking area of the image is showing up in your active picture area.

Ratio is where you set the actual size of the video image. This uses standard X to Y ratios used in film. Academy ratio is 1.85:1 and scope is 2.35:1. Most DV cameras that shoot 16x9 are 1.66:1. Standard televsion is 1.33:1.

The position allows you to reframe your image after you've set the ratio. A setting of 50 will leave the image in the middle of the picture. If you'd like a common top frame, you will need to set this number closer to 100. To see the bottom of the frame, set it closer to 0. You can animate this setting to actively recompose your shots as you go along. This setting does nothing if the style is set to Anamorphic mode because there is no picture data hidden by the letterbox.

The color control selects the color of the letterbox. You may click on the color chip to activate the standard Windows color picker, use the eyedropper to grab a color from your footage or use the graphic control to select the color you want.

The style will determine whether the letterbox is applied over the image in flat mode or the picture is squashed for anamorphic footage being made compatible with standard televisions.

The Render Settings check box will allow you to render the current settings being used to your video for test and comparison purposes.
